Large commercial printers tend to use PrintShare as a catch-all tool representing all of the services they are capable of providing to their customers. This involves receiving the print or estimate request and using the PrintShare tools to engage all of the parties required to fulfill the task. In the case of an estimate, when all of the stakeholders have responded with their portion of the estimate, the printer updates the estimate and the customer can choose to convert the estimate to an order.
Smaller digital printers tend to make use of PrintShare Digital. PrintShare Digital represents just the tools and services that the printer represents internally. In this way the customer can build the exact product they want and receive an immediate estimate. At that point they can choose to convert it to an order.
Also included in PrintShare is SharePoint, a bidirectional FTP server with on-line storage. Your corporate customers may choose to use SharePoint as a repository for current documents such as sales contracts for their representatives. It’s also a great place for both you and your customer to store large frequently used files.
